It promises immediate satisfaction.

In exchange for lasting peace.

It promises secrecy.

In exchange for integrity.

It promises excitement.

In exchange for trust.

Every temptation is asking one question.

"What are you willing to trade?"

A gentleman already knows his answer.

Nothing.

Because there are things too valuable to sell.

A clear conscience.

A faithful marriage.

The trust of your children.

The respect of your friends.

The peace that comes from walking closely with God.

No temporary pleasure is worth a permanent scar upon the soul.

That does not mean you will never stumble.

You may.

Run toward God.

Not away from Him.

Never confuse conviction with condemnation.

Conviction leads you back to the Father.

Condemnation tries to convince you He no longer wants you.

But they will remember the integrity with which you lived.

Guard that gift.

Not because you are trying to appear perfect.

Because you are trying to remain faithful.

The strongest man is not the one who conquers everyone around him.

He is the one who, through God's strength, learns to govern himself.

That battle is fought every day.
